The name of the Community Library Group is Gnosall Library, Environment & Nurture Hub (abbreviated to GLEAN Hub) you can contacted us via Gnosall Parish Council, Parish Office, Grosvenor Centre, High Street, Gnosall. The object of GLEAN Hub is to provide a lively library and information service that is valued and well-used by the people of Gnosall. The aim in the near future is to set up GLEAN Hub as a community library project within a new Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) for the Parish of Gnosall.
Our Gnosall Community Library Project has been chosen as one of the three Waitrose Community Matters to be given baskets for the month of January, starting 2nd January. Please tell your family, friends and neighbours if they shop at Waitrose in Newport to put their green tokens in the basket for the library.
Gnosall Lions have promised funding provided we get planning permission.
We need more volunteers!! Anyone who has a few hours to spare in the week to be a librarian once it is up and running or provide extra duties such as helping with the young readers group we hope to provide, please contact us email@example.com
The Gnosall Library Group (GLEAN; Gnosall Library - Education and Nurture) is progressing well with its bid to set up a new Community Library. GLEAN has established a constituted committee and currently liaising with the Parish Council and other local projects to create a new community charity to support the venture.
A business Plan is nearly completed and will be submitted before the end of July. As with all 23 other libraries downgraded to volunteer-managed (as part of recent Staffordshire County Council cuts), GLEAN has to bid the County Council for the contract to run the new facility.
Unlike other libraries, Gnosall is also in the complicated position of having to find new premises following the development of the new school. The favoured location is to share the new Youth Club building with an additional portakabin added for extra space for both groups. GLEAN is currently in negotiations with the County Council over the costs for this arrangement.
